Monday miscellany. Also: alliteration
Oh, the El Guincho record is good stuff. This makes up for Pitchfork’s gushing over the twin bores of Altas Sound and High Places.

So last night, during the Oscars, JC Penney starts running a commercial with Robert Plant’s and Allison Krauss’ “Killing the Blues”. I didn’t think much about it until I looked at my site stats this morning and saw a Matterhorn-sized peak in the visits. Why? Because just about everyone in the world wanted to find out what the song in the commercial was, and it turns out that my post about that album is the #1 search result when you type in “swinging the world by the tail“.
I know that I don’t do a whole lot around here to discourage any feeling that I’m kind of a jerk, but I can say with all sincerity that I hope these people hit that first link on their search results and come away with a warm feeling of new knowledge and maybe even a favorite new song. Then again, that would require people actually taking the time to read the first few sentences I added to the post, and I have very little confidence that people are doing that.

A blog and nothing but since 2003. Some tech, lots of music, and if rambling was money, drinks are on me.
